Title          Outreach Education Coordinator

Description:
The Outreach Education Coordinator reports to the Program Vice-President and is responsible for coordinating all reproductive health education programs and activities on behalf of Nevada County Citizens for Choice.

The job involves working face-to-face with Citizens for Choice outreach education workers, volunteers and community members and reaching out to local organizations and populations.  This challenging job involves hard work on a flexible schedule.  This position is ideal for someone who likes working with people and who is well-organized and self-directed.

The position is best suited for people who are pro-women and who want to advance reproductive justice locally through community outreach and health education.

Primary Functions:

  • Coordinate, plan and organize all community outreach activities
  • Support student advocate efforts to raise student awareness about reproductive health and justice

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise community outreach workers
  • Plan and organize community outreach activities
  • Facilitate student outreach activities
  • Keep accurate, current monthly records of all education and outreach activities
  • Prepare and maintain informational materials in consultation with the Vice President for Programs
  • Write articles about community outreach activities and accomplishments in the quarterly newsletter of Nevada County Citizens for Choice, Inc.

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to abortion access, medically accurate information, and reproductive health and justice for all.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including with email, Microsoft Word and Excel, and social media.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work well with diverse people in a team environment
  • Self-motivated, resourceful and creative
  • Language skills other than English are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel throughout western Nevada County
  • Ability to adapt to flexible work hours and occasionally to work on evenings and weekends.
  • Knowledgeable about reproductive healthcare and reproductive justice
  • A minimum of an Associate of Arts degree preferred
